HOW TECHNOLOGY MAKES OUR LIVES EASIER
We’re living in a world where technological advances are happening at a rapid pace. Technology has made our lives a lot easier in many aspects, and this certainly applies to communication. I believe that crystal clear communication is the key to success of any business.
Internal communication, tracking and planning
Over the past few weeks I have learnt about some of the systems that MANGO-OMC uses to ensure seamless day-to-day communication and planning. These systems include: Google Docs and cloud storage, an online media monitoring and analysis system, an online tracking system and Skype – just to name a few. Having shared access to documents is very valuable in keeping all team members up to date. It allows them to make changes at the same time and share feedback with clients. It is also an easy and efficient way of getting internal feedback and works extremely well for our team as we have members based in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
It’s so important to have a media monitoring partner that uses the most advanced technology. This makes our reporting process that much easier. More importantly, it allows us to drilldown into important measurement tools over and above the AVE value.
Overall, these tools allow everyone to communicate efficiently and have a full understanding about what is happening with each client. It is such a proficient way to base your company communications on, as it works so easily and quickly, that it matches the fast-paced PR industry that we work in.
Technology not only contributes to successful communications within a business, but it helps businesses to do their job a lot quicker and more effectively.
As technology changes, people’s expectations also change. We have to keep up to ensure that we use the right tools and systems to work smart, and effectively to serve our clients’ needs. At the rate that technology is advancing, I can’t begin to imagine all the exciting tools we will have to choose from to do our work, and to communicate with each other in the years ahead.
