Juggling MANGO and client work during the busiest time of the year

Mango November 3, 2017 0

I always knew that this time of the year would be very hectic but I don’t think that I could have prepared myself for how busy it really is at the moment. Although it’s so busy, it’s great as there is constantly something for me to do.

This past week I have found to be exceptionally busy as there is both internal MANGO work that needs to be done, as well as client work that needs to be focused on. As a result of our client work, my routine tasks for MANGO have taken a bit of a backseat – which isn’t good! My social media plan and blog have been slightly delayed which is a result of poor time management from my side, as well as the immediacy the Public Relations industry demands.

For November and December, I definitely need to ensure that I manage my daily tasks as effectively as possible so that I can ensure the content plans are as up to date as possible, whilst still being able to execute client work as best as I possibly can and also being able to help the team out when their capacity levels are sky-high. In order to ensure that I plan effectively, keeping an up-to-date diary and crossing tasks off once they have been completed is essential. Another important component of planning is making sure that even the smallest tasks are jotted down as they are usually the tasks that end up throwing off time allocation for daily priorities. During a busy period, not sticking to proper timing and deadlines is a death knell.

As the Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards draws closer, efficient planning and preparation will require a lot of our time and focus. During this time, it’s essential that we work together as a team and make sure that all of our work is up to date and standard.

The year has flown by and is coming to an end very quickly. I’m very excited to see what a very busy November and December bring and I’m especially looking forward to experiencing my very first Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards! All the planning and behind-the-scenes work will soon come to life and I cannot wait to see everyone’s hard work prevail.

As the end of the year approaches, leave a comment below if you would like me to address/discuss anything specific from my wonderful experience as a PR intern.
