WHY I LOVE WORKING IN PR

Mango January 27, 2017 0

Public Relations is being recognized more and more as an essential part of the communication mix. It is being integrated in the brand strategy for businesses, and brands are finally putting their weight, and trust in PR agencies to ensure that their communication strategy is aligned with their strategic business goals.

The reason why I love PR is because it’s such a diverse industry and our days are never predictable. PR has so many facets: writing, content planning, content marketing, a bit of event planning and of course media liaison and reputation management – there are so many career paths to choose from!

I decided to pursue a career in PR because the diversity of the tasks and roles of a PR practitioner excited me. I love to be able to learn new things, across an array of tasks. I’m also a people-person, which means that I enjoy the opportunity to communicate with a variety of different people, from different industries and backgrounds.

A career in PR is demanding. You have to be on-the-ball at all times, be very flexible and organized. Having a passion for working with people, being creative while also being well organized will therefore definitely help you to excel. I look forward to learning more about PR as my journey continues and I can’t wait to see where my skills and strengths can best fit into this multi-faceted, fast-paced industry.
